Our Vision

As a Christian family, together, we will realise our God-given ability to change the world.

For nothing will be impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)

Our vision is highly aspirational for our children and community. Within this short statement hides the huge work we need to do together to ensure our children have the confidence, knowledge and skills to go into the world and make a positive difference.

Our Christian family is everyone involved in the school. We are all intrinsically linked. We need each other and our Lord to work towards everyone flourishing.

Romans Chaper 12 v 5 says:

‘so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. So it is with Christ's body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.’

We believe that everyone has been given a gift from God. In Ephesians chapter 4 it says:

‘There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; there is one God and Father of all people, who is Lord of all, works through all, and is in all. Each one of us has received a special gift in proportion to what Christ has given.’

Our vision hangs upon the story of the Good Samaritan which can be found in Luke Chapter 10: verses 25 - 37. Our school values of Faith, Friendship, Respect, Responsibility and Love are rooted in this passage and eminate through all aspects of school life. As the Samaritan started out on his journey that day he already had those values deeply instilled within him. Whereas others failed to help, he chose to help that person. He used the skills, knowledge, understanding and courage he had to make a positive difference: a change to that man’s life.

The challenge and aspiration of our vision is how can we be like that? Our values, ethos, curriculum and all that we do in school aims to enable our community to be like that. It may not lie in nursing someone (though of course for some it may) or having money to pay an innkeeper to take further care. The difference lies in us realising what we have, nurturing and growing together. Enpowering each person to change God’s world in any positive way possible and flourishing in his Power and Love.

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

(Luke 10:27)
